A society archiving the history of Rainham
The aim of this society is to create an archive of historical information and photos about the history of Rainham, Kent and the surrounding areas.
Speakers give talks upon a wide variety of historical subjects.
Outings and holidays are held during the summer months and open to both members and non-members.
The Society donates £1,000 per annum on behalf of the members to historical charities, such as St Margaret’s Church, Rainham towards the repair of stained-glass windows and to the restoration of ‘The Medway Queen’ paddle steamer moored at Gillingham Pier and open to visitors.
Monthly meetings are held in the evening, in the Millennium Centre.
