Arts Society in Gillingham

The Arts Society Medway meets monthly (except in August and December) for lectures on a broad and diverse range of topics.   Our members have been sharing a curiosity for the Arts for over 20 years.

Our lectures are given by experienced and highly qualified lecturers who are experts in their chosen field.

To supplement the monthly lectures, Special Interest Days are arranged twice per year in which a subject is studied in greater depth.

The Society also organises visits to art galleries, museums and places of historic and artistic interest in the UK.

The ‘Volunteering’ section describes our regular activities of promoting Young Arts, Church Recording and Heritage Volunteering.

The Society is a member of The Arts Society that was founded in 1968 as the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies. The Arts Society works to advance decorative and fine arts education and appreciation, alongside promoting the preservation of artistic heritage. It is a UK-based charity and supports a network of over 360 local societies across the country. In addition, it supports a number of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies in mainland Europe and Australasia.

Meetings are held on every third Tuesday of the month at Franklin Rooms, Gillingham, (except August and December).

Lectures start at 11a.m. but members are welcome from 10a.m. to have a cup of coffee and meet friends.
